Dog missing

My dog went missing last night about 530 pm who are the best people to talk to about finding him I have called the dog warden and police and a local rescue centre any other ideas ?

My brother lost his staffie and these people were great.We found the dog after five days.

Also try neighbouring council dog wardens (it's district councils not County), local vets and neighbouring police stations. The various bodies don't tend to talk to each other.

Get posters out and about both inlocal area and online.

Any chance he could be down a hole?

I have checked all sets around me as i was out past midnight looking for him I am now trying to get hold of councils etc most only work 10-3

Also worth a drive past any 'traveller' sites.

Would he have gone after a bitch in season.

It was a nice day yesterday, do you have a local touristy place where people come to walk. Any chance he could have been picked up by someone thinking he is a stray.

Just heard from a neibour over the field that he was there last niight but neighbour is not answering door

I picked him up from the neighbour at 11am

I was just about to post and ask if you had found him!

Shame the neighbour didn't phone you. Does he wear a tag with your numbers on it? Did you know it's a legal requirement?

It's not a legal requirement for working dogs as they can get hung up on branches / fences etc and strangle themselves - it's not pleasant, I've seen one do it and we couldn't get there in time!!!

I'm not sure if the OP does work their dog but just thought I would let you know...

Only when they are working though.

When my lab is working her collar is removed and she is on a slip lead.
