Dog not comfortable behind?

Noticed that my youngest bitch ( now 13 months old Stafford bitch) is not happy about getting up onto sofa, in the jeep etc. not lame, belting around as normal but not happy to jump up onto anything. No swelling, no sign of discomfort if I dig around. She was at the vets last week for annual injections etc but as she is so good there everything was done when she was sitting down..thoughts? Back to the vets? Or am I just being overly cautious? Or being manipulated into picking her up?

Agree with the vet. Also, get someone to trot her up for you (only walking!) - if she kind of rolls her hips from side to side instead of striding straight out, that can be a sign of her compensating for discomfort. Henry has that gait, but the vet says that he shows no pain under very firm manipulation, so it's probably a sign of HD but not something to worry about.

ETA - just a disclaimer, as you know I'm not a vet, this is just what the vet told me after I had Henry's hips thoroughly poked and prodded just before Christmas

These symptoms are also common in dogs with impacted anal glands. It would be unsual for this to happen in such a young dog, but it may be worth getting the vet to check?

Dex did this for a while- i put it down to him colliding with something, rolling around like a numpty on a stone or generally having bashed himself whilst being a div.

I helped him (No mean feat) in and out of the car and on and off the sofa for a week, when he was back to normal.

Walks perfectly straight. Have booked her into the vet tomorrow but judging how she leapt onto my bed whe she thought I had food I do wonder if I am being had now!!
