Since being on house arrest ;) Tassy has not being going to the toilet in regular patterns and it concerns me. There are times where she wont wee for 14hours at a time even though we have been taking her out into the garden at 6.30am then at 8am, then at 4pm, then at 7pm and just before bed at 11pm. Sometimes she will only go twice.

In terms of pooing she has also gone very irregular - and has waited near 40hours between poos- and then pooing 4 poops out within 10 min. I think its because she's on the lead- normally on a walk or in the garden she likes to take herself off a bit to do her business. I also think its because she isnt moving around much. Im worried about the effect it may have on her guts. I have been feeding her chews and pigs ears etc to keep her busy but have cut her food down to a 150grams instead of the 380grams she should have per day- split into morning and evening feeds.

Am I doing something wrong? How can I encourage her to go as we have anouther 14 days of no walks so I would like to get her sorted. Or should I quit worrying :)

I'd personally call the vet for a bit of advice.........is she drinking and eating properly? I'm guessing not if there's nothing coming out the other end.....if not, she needs to go to the vets I'd say

yeah drinks fine- we are topping her water up the same as usual and she eats her dinner with gusto- its not that she doesnt go at all- its just not as regulalry as she was when we were out walking- I totally forgot to ask this earlier when with the vet!

My dog can be like this. If he is on the lead in the garden or on walks he seems to to take great offence and wont go to the toilet whilst on it even though its a long lead. He often only goes twice a day despite being let out much more. Not sure if its a problem or not tbh. He does the majoirty of his business on walks off the lead and quite often wont go again all day after a long walk.
