Dog not toileting after spay

Friends bitch got spayed yesterday, op went great and she's bright and bouncy, eating and drinking well but has yet to have gone to the toilet. Is there anything you can give to help shift things along?

I would have a word with the vet before your friend starts giving her anything. Her system may just take a little while to settle down. Doesn't seem to be too much to worry about given that she is fine in herself in all other ways.

I would be ringing the vet straight away,they usually say at time of discharge if the bitch isn't weeing then contact them.

Don't forget the dig will have been starved prior to the op so there will be less to pass through for a while.
