sorry guys total rant at the moment, just need to vent some steam.
took taz for a nice long gallop tonight round a field really close to the yard and thought i'd make it more interesting for him and take him round another field on the way home, so had to cross through the woodland track for like 2 minutes to join the two fields up, which is a track that i ride on almost every day
This is where it all took a turn for the worst, as soon as i got through the open gate into the woods out comes dog out of no where barking like mad and start chasing and snapping at taz's feet, now he's only five so didnt really expect him to be calm, he got a fright and took off. Then out comes another dog from the other side and i end up on top of an electric fence! with taz stood totally shaking with fear and the dogs at this point are still barking at him and trying to bite him.
I try to untangle myself from the fence while getting electric shocks and trying to hold onto taz at the same time, not very succesfully might i add, and the owners of the dogs have stood and watch the whole thing! then had the cheek to say i should learn how to stay on my horse when "it" gets a fright! as it isnt their fault that their dogs chased after me!
I decided to keep my mouth shut as i was so angry by this point having only got myself untangeld from the fence and managed to fix it as i'd broke the handle as its a gate, so that the cows couldnt escape and jumped back on and walked him home.
Thought tonight was going to be a good hack but ovbioulsy not, i just wish dog owners would be a bit more responsible they could have came over and got their dogs away from taz while i was trying to get untangled from the fence but no, they just stood and watched.
so now i have burn marks up my left arm and on my hands from touching the electric fence for so long, and dont think i will be cutting through the woodland track any time soon
sorry for such a long post guys just thought i would rant a bit, have some wine and some cookies if u read it all, im having cookies
no wine though as ive taken pain killers
