Hi Guys,

We went over to France yesterday and next time we go I'd love to take our dog with us. The french seem to be really dog tollerent, in fact welcome them.

I've had a look at Defra's website and know what has to be done but not sure if it works as smoothly as they make it sound!!

Has anyone's dog got a passport? Was it very easy, does it work and how much roughly did it cost you??

Thanks very much

Tricksy xxx :-)

its probs the best part of £200 vets wil charge different things

basically ur dog needs to have a rabies vaccine, and then a couple of weeks later bloods taken to see what the titre level is, providing this is within the acceptable range the dogs just need to be wormed and treated for ticks (spot on) and then can travel, under the current rules they cannot re-enter the country within 6 months of the passport being issued so plan things well ahead.

dont leave it to the last min as if the titre level comes back as too low they will need repeat bloods etc and it takes time for the VLA to process the results

feel free to pm if you need any more help
