Bear and Brig are waiting to go out and have been dancing round. I had to phone the parents and sort out Zak and the horse first. They are quite used to not going out til now. Bear just peed in the lounge! :(

I am horrified, they have not done this since being tiny babies. He was aiming for my Sketchers which have not moved for a week.

With you saying its sketchers that have been there a week it sounds like marking behavior. Friends dog always cocks his leg on rugby kit when its her husbands turn to bring it home to wash, or if he leaves sweaty training stuff in the washing basket for a few days. Now they just keep washing out of way in those cases.

Perhaps he just really needed to go??

I wouldn't have thought it was necessarily to do with being intact (I am guessing he is from DG response, apologies if wrong!!) and scent marking. If he's not done it before or shown signs of it becoming a problem, and was dancing around waiting to go out, then seems more likely to be a bit of a accident I would have thought??

My setter at almost a year old will have the occasional dribble if excited and waiting to go out,but hasn't become anything more sinister than that behaviour wise (he still has his bits and scent marking was a concern of mine when deciding not to get him done,so am observant about it!!),think sometimes like us they just get caught out TBH (like us when we're young I meant BTW,not that as adults we all go around peeing on peoples shoes lol).

Sure will be fine, but maybe an idea to just let him out in the garden when he starts dancing in future,or move your shoes lol

Don't panic!:p I surmise they have maybe been out for garden wee's but are awaiting a walk? or do you mean this is the first time they will have gone out since last night?
Either way, I would put it down to being a little desperate, or a one off scent (any bitches near by In season)? I would not panick though, this could be a one off that never happens again.
I am boarding a female weim and she is nipping clean and never peed n my house or hers and yesterday as me and OH returned home she urinated in my kitchen:eek::p but before we went out we had her over the field with my lot and she drank loads from the puddles. I have put it down to her drinking way to much (she gulps water down like it's food) and does get a dry died.
If it happens again, maybe a pee sample first.

Thank you to all the others for their answers bar this one:
So this was their first pee of the morning? And they were dancing? Are you surprised?

Get off my back, woman, it's tiring carrying you round. And don't be stupid, given the time I posted and having said I'd been to do the horse and walk Zak. The other two have been in and out of the garden all morning until then, from 6 am onwards.

He is not neutered and I have no intention of having him done. He wasn't dancing as in desperate for the loo, he was desperate to go out for his big walk, is what I meant. Sorry, should have clarified. It was a tiny amount, does seem like scent marking.

Thanks, Cayla. I won't panic just yet, I was just horrified. He's a very good dog, normally.

then you should have clarified as it read that they had not been out for a pee yet as 'they were used to waiting this long'. Would have made life simpler.

My Ex wife used to have a rescue castrated male lurcher which was a BAST*** for peeing in the house till the day it passed on so I dont think castration is a silver bullet.

*Sigh* Perhaps I should also mention at what time my OH got up, what we had for breakfast and the fact that we have a dog flap? I can see that my posts will become ever longer.

Me neither, but don't tell Cayla, or she'll shout at me in her funny accent! :D

Dear God! It's hard to type like that, though, isn't it?!

None of mine have ever done this before so I'm seeing it as a one off. Hopefully!
