Dog Play Parks

I visited a friend in Canada and there it seems that lots of towns have a fenced area, about 2 acres, which is securely fenced, just for dogs to be let off and play, safe from traffic and other park users.

Are there any places like this in the UK?

Not sure about the UK, but this is pretty much the norm in the USA.

My sister lives in North Carolina and dog cannot be off lead except in a fenced in dog park. it is illegal for her to let him off the lead anywhere else.

There's one in Ipswich. That's the only one I know of!

I would happily pay a private membership fee or dog licence fee to have access to that kind of resource, I wish it was the norm here.
