dog walker?

A girl at my yard is a dog walker / sitter. Her idea of dog walking / sitting, is for the owner to drop their dog off at her house for the day. She then left them and went to work, going home a lunch time to take them out. Not my idea of a dog walker!! Her neighbours reported her for having a lot of dogs in her tiny own bedroom flat. She is now a 'dog trainer' but I've seen her dogs and they are anything but trained so I would never recommend her.

Another friend has a girl come in to take her dogs out for about an hour a day - seems to work fine. Don't know how much it costs but dogs and owner are happy.

Check your local telephone directory and papers for names and have a chat to them. Make sure they are insured.

We use a local dog walker, she's a very nice girl, comes in twice a week for an hour and charges me £7.50 an hour. One near where we used to live charged £16 an hour!!
Well worth the £7.50 though as OH and I both leave for work at 8am and don't get back til 5.30 some days, so it means dog gets out and about! She does say she has to wake him up when she gets there though!

I walk dogs and look after horses for a living. I go to the house, take them out as long as the owner wants. I walk one that takes me 20mins to get to and i get £16 for that for a 45min walk, but i sometimes walk one round the corner for about 40mins for £7.50.

I use a dog walker monday to friday as I work full time. She collects them at 2 and returns at 4. She takes them to the beach or the woods sometimes with her own and sometimes just my 2. She charges £10 per hour and the dogs really look forward to seeing her and are tired when they come back. Expensive perhaps, but to me it is worth every penny as I know they are getting 2 hours a day when sometimes I don't feel like walking them if I have had a difficult day and when I do it is a bonus for them. I do, of course, walk them at weekends.
