Mum has several rescue dogs that get walked for a couple of hours every day. I bought her some lovely fleecy lined boots last year but they are only waterproof around the foot. She has asked for some wellies for Xmas but I always think wellies are cold. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a pair of 3/4 length, waterproof lined boots that don't cost the earth, thank you!

If you lived in Alaska or snow bound USA I understand boots for dogs ..but in U.K.?
do they really need them ?
I live in the foothills of the alps here, mine don't wear boots and we are out up to two hrs at a time as well.

Edit edit edit.....LOL I've just reread your post and it's for your mom....lol,,,sorry..I stuck my unbooted foot in it ...LOL
I'd visits decathlon and look at walking boots.

I've had the Muck tack Classis boots for years. They're very comfortable for longer walks with the doggies, and are made for riding in too.

They've got a new style out which looks very nice:

If also got a pair of muck boots which is much more insulated and warm (althought not as flexible at the ankle joint so making riding in it slightly more difficult). I only use them in Arctic conditions.

I used to walk my dogs in wellies for years before I won some Ariat Grasmeres in a competition, and they changed my life! I honestly didn't know comfort before that little luxury. They died some time ago from being worn to death, and I bought some cheaper Ariat Windrush boots, which are almost as good (though I do like being laced into the Grasmeres). The Windrush has been discontinued but you might pick some up on ebay or some end of line clearance place.

I might have solved your shopping dilemma though as Hope Valley Saddlery have a deal on the Ariat Windermere which is almost the same as the Windrush, and they are doing a free pair of Harry Hall wellies with the Windermeres! So you could get your Mum the wellies she has asked for, and the Ariats she really wants although she doesn't know it!

(By the way, can I adopt you?)
