Hi all, I don't think I've posted in the dog section before. :)

My staffie cross Bobby has suddenly started needing to urinate frequently, just over the last couple of hours. He keeps asking to go out, coming back in then asking to go out again. :( Twice I've not been quick enough to open the door and there's been a little puddle on the floor. :(

I've now settled for leaving the back door open, so the house is very cold but it's better than accidents.

If he's still like this tomorrow, I'll take him to the vet. Meanwhile, has anyone any ideas about how I can help him? He's his usual happy self in every other way. Eating normally, drinking plenty of water. He had his evening walk but did wee a lot while we were out.

This could be an isssue with the bladder for the animal, because of the sudden wheather change in combination with a possible genetic inability to withstand colder temperatures. You should take the animal to the vet asap, and in the mean-time also try taking longer walks with the animal too, because as ridiculous as it may sound, the dog may just want to show you a desire to spend more time outside :)...

Sorry, I've only just seen this. :)

The weather hadn't been particularly cold when Bobby's symptoms started. He has an infection and is now on antibiotics and much improved.

I've never heard of urinary frequency being a dog's way of asking for more walks! ;) Not the case this time, anyway. :)
