Really needed some quick answers so im sorry about the multiple thread.

Millie was diagnosed with liver and kidney changes (shes been on metacam on and off for 2 years), at the vets weds...tests on friday.

She has always been fine in herself.... except this weekend. Since this morning she has pooed in the night, so gave her a massive hug and told her it was ok (she takes it personally)... :(

The all day today she has been restless (but still happy.... millie is always happy)

The just now ive found wee in her poo and wee. Im sat here thinking the worst....

Im taking her the vets Monday morning regardless. If she gets any worse tonight/tomorow i will take her the emergancy vets....

Cold this be just a virus/bug??? Or isit really kidney/liver related??

Shes 5.

You really do need the opinion of a vet. Urine with blood in it, generally looks like coca cola, so how do you see blood? If her urine is actually red, then I'd be surprised if it's her kidneys, but I'm not a vet, so I don't know.

If she seems fine within herself, then Monday should do. If she deteriorates, then tomorrow might be best.

That's just an UNqualified opinion. Good luck.

Alec.

Shes fine in herself i just dont get it :(

My collie had wee in his blood,, we lost him 3 days later due to a tumour. however that was due to an x-ray but we do suspect it was metacam.

She will be going the vets tomorow morning, unless she goes worse in the night...then I will take her asap..

ets - alec thanks. :)

Like i said shes 100% fine in herself - happy....but alittle quiet (but wouldnt you be if you had a bug/felt like crap - i know i would!)

if she remanins as is.... then someone can be with her all the time for toilet dashes... and if she is ok till mon morning i will be banging on the door at 8.30am when they open.

TBH I would try and get her in tomorrow at the latest either way. Dogs can be very stoic. An old story I have rolled out before but my dog was passing blood and actual pieces of tissue from a growth in his bladder. I would not have noticed, had it not been snowing.
In hindsight, he could not, NOT have been in pain, but he was still wagging his tail, going out on walks, etc, just not as bombastic as usual.
It did not look like a popular caffeine infused beverage, it looked like blood and bits of tissue.

Im going to (stupid as it sounds) get some pictures of the blood/bits in her wee (its very difficult to tell in this light - i was using atorch and my eyesights crap)

Was your dog ok CC?

Im just gutted this has happened to Millie...shes the best dog ive ever owned...but shes had enough health problems in her short life its unreal. :(

Yeah just needed a two month blast of anti-biotics, long story but he's put together all wrong down below :o we believe as the result of a traumatic whelp.
But he had a big bloody ball of tissue floating around in his bladder :o poor sod.

It might just be a UTI or a blockage or something and the timing is coincidental but best to get it checked out x

aww bless him :(

Its far too much of a coincidence for my liking.

Shes currently in her bed next to me snoring her head off having nice doggie dreams :) no doubt playing in the park with her ball x

Good luck with her Noodle - dear little Millie sounds like such a fabulous little dog but actually having read this now I would phone the vet first thing tomorrow morning - just to see what they say and be on the safe side xx

I will phone the vet for sure if she gets worse i will take her.

If not i will take her first thing monday

even if she "improves" shes still going the vets monday.....

and thank you ravenwood - shes an absolute saint of a dog, helped me through many dark times, she owes me nothing. I will do right by her x

Just read your other thread too. what a worry. someone suggested a pain killer beginning with t, i think they mean tramadol. I don't know if the vet would want her on this long term either. There is also devils claw which is a natural inflam and painkiller, might be worth asking the vet about that too.
I agree that i would be calling the vet in the morning, are they closed on a sunday? they will have emergency cover anyway.
I hope a good dose of anti-biotics will sort her out for you. try not to stress. (says she who is lying awake worrying about someone elses wee lost dog lol) x

Having read of C_C's experiences, then I think that you should have your dog into a vet, just as soon as you can, Sunday?

I hope that I haven't mislead you. Good luck, and will you let us know how things are?

Alec.

If you're still up, I'd be ringing the out of hours surgery NOW. They can at least advise you, and that's what they're there for. Please don't leave it until Monday.

Six weeks ago our 13 year old dog looked 'wrong' on a Saturday morning. I took her to the vet's very busy emergency surgery feeling I was being a drama queen. Within two hours she had been operated on for a ruptured spleen. They told me she would have died if I'd left it until the Sunday - let alone the Monday. She too was being stoic. So don't delay.
PS She's made a brilliant recovery. Good luck with Millie and let us know how she goes on.

thanks all.

Im still up now just about to crash and go to bed. I will be up at 7am, checking on her then I will go from there

Most likely as i know how i am she will be going the vets.....

Im supposed to be in work tomorow afternoon, im hoping i can get my mum to come home early else i will probably get sacked if i phone in sick again but my little dog comes first always...Just dont want her left alone - whether shes ok or not :/

Hi Noodle... Really feel for you, but having read your other post, I really think you need tomget her checked at the vets today.
I know you say she's ok in herself, but clearly she's poorly - a dark cow pat type poo is not normal, especially when accompanied by vomiting.
I really hope she is ok, hole your mum can help you out.
Let us know how she is today x

Hi all.

Shes much happier today. She slept on my bed last night, no accidents...(tbh she didnt move for 6 hours)! she loves my bed as shes banned from it normally! Im exhausted, went to bed at two - up before 7 and regularly waking up literally every hour, as millie had taken over my (double)!!! bed :D i dont mind, even when i moved in the night normally she jumps off, obviously she just needed a good sleep....... she used to sleep on my bed when i got her as a puppy, she was dry from day 1 that way too :)

Her poo as no blood in :) no vomiting today... but shes on dry toast, rice and chicken (rice and chicken will be introduced slowly tonight)

Her wee still has blood in, but shes weeing.

Feel free to bash me but im taking her at 8.30 am tomorow morning. (vets)

Shes eating/drinking/happy, and not dehydrated/pale etc.

Id rather take her my own vets as ive dealt with our emergancy ones before, my last dog had a stroke, we took her to them and they just sent us home and told us to come back to our own vets the next day.

im confident shes not in pain nor unhappy so im going to see my own vets tomorow morning.

x

No bashing, from here! As she seems to be more settled, and probably been very well aware of her "Bed claiming rights",;) I'd think that tomorrow morning, and off to the vet's, will be just fine. ;)

I'm pleased to hear that you seem to be happier. Will you let us know the outcome?

Alec.

thanks alec :)

I know my dog and i always follow my gut instinct. She gets terrified at the vets, as i find it difficult to trust vets (well people in general lol!), if shes "ok" id rather wait to see my vet tomorow morning!

and lol @ at the bed claiming rights... :D im 5'7 but all legs - i like to sprawl, so didnt have the best nights sleep last night....but beats sleeping on the floor next to her bed which was my original plan :D lol!!

Of course, will keep you all posted :) I appreciate all the help, advice and good vibes :)

I am glad she's feeling and seeming better noodle :)
However if it was me, from past experience I'd have had her at the vet with samples as soon as it happened.
I hope its nothing serious, and she recovers fully soon :) fingers paws and hooves crossed here!
K x

hi all

Ive been at work tonight so my lovely mum has been dog sitting! :)

Shes still got blood in her poo's, however is much much brighter in herself, shes eaten some chicken and rice (spoilt dog!), and kept it down and much happier in herself.

im ringing the vets at half 8 tomorow morning to tell them im on my way! :)

Shes also claimed bedrights again tonight.... looks like i wont be getting a good nights kip again !! :D lol!

Will update you all tomorow morning after the vets :)

update;

Couldnt get a vet appointment as they were full, but they said i could come and wait and they would slot me in somewhere!!

Vet thinks its probably a coincidence with her kidney/liver results, mabey shes eaten something she shouldnt.... either way she is on antibiotics and some other tablets for her intestine... Shes back on weds for a check up

We should also have her urine test back for her kidneys tomorow, and other results on friday (she did say what thats called but its all kidney/liver related)!

Shes also had an antibiotic injection, and fast asleep in her bed. :) Im yet to break it to her that the vet told me shes not having any food till tomorow morning :o

Thanks for all the advice and help again :)

Oh p.s her current bill in 5 days is currently at £208. I think thats pretty good going for millie, as her last bill was £500 in 1 day :D :D

Glad vets seem positive, hope the results come back as best they can.
As for your bill that's not bad- our Newfy has got a bad hock just for antibiotics 400quid for a 6week course. So far the bill for her leg is coming in at around 4000 since the beginning of October. Not bad really! She may be going to be fused in new year if infection clears and no improvement. Luckily she is insured for 10000per year rather than per condition. But at a cost of 105per month!!

opppp sorry im so bad at replying!

shes a lot better :D

shes been back the vets today for her check-up and shes doing really well :)

Not normal as such but no blood in either :D

shes on antib's and some otheres for her intestines for another 3.4 days and then after new year shes back at the vets for another blood test to see whats a-happening with her kidneys :)

So not fabulous! but shes "better" and im about to go out for a walk with her :)
