First sign was a runny soft poo with some 'form' to it, found sat morning on utility room floor. She must've been desperate because she never messes in the house and normally would bark/whine to be let out.

Saturday she appeared bright in herself, no more accidents, but two more poos when out on walks were very runny and she seemed to take a long time to produce them. Decided to give her a small meal at normal evening time, thinking she'd probably eaten something out on a walk somewhere, and got it out her system. She ate with enthusiasm (as normal). And was settled as usual in the evening.

Got up early this morning to find liquid diarrhea all over the floor, and a wee as well. Although still seems bright and wanted to accompany me to the stables, no outward signs of discomfort, I've prodded and poked around her tummy with her thinking it was a lovely fuss!

Was wondering if I should starve her for the day, does this have any effect? Or cook up some rice for her mixed with some chicken stock?

Her diet hasn't changed (she's fed moistened dry biscuits) and her routine has been normal.

Any thoughts?
 
As long as she is bright in herself, and drinking normally, starve her for 24 hours then gradually introduce small amounts of chicken and rice. If she starts showing signs of being unhappy, or stops drinking, I would give your vet a call but hopefully she will improve once her tummy has had a rest.
 
Thanks MM, just wanted to sound it out on someone :-) she is drinking and seems fine (apart from the poo), of course would take her to the vets if she gets worse/doesn't improve but think they would probably advise starving etc first anyway!

I'll give it 24hrs and re-introduce a bland diet and see....

Do not starve your dog, because if there is any bacteria or an infection you're actually allowing it to multiply and fester. As a rule, split her food into smaller amounts and feed regularly.

The fact she sounds bright and alert and still eating and drinking makes me think she may have eaten something she shouldn't have. Of course if she goes downhill or you're concerned pop her straight to the vets. Hope it all clears up soon.
 
Our vets and my parents vets both recommend starving for 24 hrs with a dog with the squits, as previously mentioned after that reintroduce bland diet in small quantities etc.
 
I never starve a squitty dog unless it doesn't want to eat, normally a small dose of bio yougurt or a benacol/yackult (forgotten it's proper spelling) in with her feed an a couple of raw chicken wings do the trick
 
personally I'd starve for 24 hours and then give several, very small meals of rice and egg/chicken/fish and if no improvement within 24/48 hours then I'd pop to vets for a check.
Being reasonably bright and wanting to eat doesn't necessarily mean that there's not something else going on - a couple of weeks ago my mom's dog had 24/48 hours of squits but nothing else, 3/4 days later my collie started as well, she wasn't starved as on meds that require food with them but given very small amounts of just rice, she seemed to improve a bit but (typically over the weekend) she turned pure liquid with blood. A short course of kaolin and anti-biotics were all that was needed but through the whole thing she was happy to eat and only slightly quieter than normal for her.
 
Thanks for all the advice peoples :-) she had 4 small chicken/rice meals yesterday, and today is having chicken/rice/biscuits combo! Seems to be working, and all is well x
