This may be a bit premature, but I would love some suggestions for names for our possible new dog.
Bitch is definitely in pup, and are due in a couple of weeks.

This is daddy
CH/IR CH KESTOS I SPY AT GRAYTHOR JW SHCM

He is a Norwegian Elkhound. He was BIB at Crufts this year and 3rd in the Hound group.

I would like the name to come from a Norse background.

Any ideas anyone??

We thought if we called him Loki - he might ironically be well behaved... and he is pretty good

You do end up having to explain it to everyone tho... and one woman thought I called him Blokey!

I have a cat called Loki and he does live up to his name!!

Do you want a Norwegian name or a Norwegian translation of an English descriptive noun/verb?

The Norwegian for dog is hund (the D is silent). So you could have a prefix onto that. There is also the idea of a Norwegian place name or the name of a Norse King...

Also you could translate a portion of one of the parents names.

If you want a translation give me a shout, I married a weegie!!
