7 yr old springer has just been diagnosed with this in her elbows. We have metacam and yumove for a month before vet would like to see her again. Can I have any helpful ideas from anyone who is experienced is managing a dog with arthritis, things I can do to help her, things I should avoid. She is happy in herself but has definitely slowed down and doesnt want to rush about which is fine. We walk 3 together and can do shorter walks at a slower pace as the other 2 will charge off together and she will stay with us. Ive never had a dog with this before so experiences gratefully received.

Our lab with bad elbows doesn't do hard ground, so no walking on concrete or roads. Also no jumping, down seems worse than up.
She still works all season, so it is perfectly manageable. She is fit and lean, most of their weight is carried on their front legs.

Echo managing their weight. Mine is definitely stiffer if she gains weight. Little and often is best for exercise.

I'd recommend Yumove, but I've found mine is better on 3 tablets instead of two. I also use Turmeric if she's stiff which is very effective.

Her arthritis is bad in one hock. We must be doing something right as the vet thought she'd need Onsior every day for ever (similar to Metacam) but she only has one now if she's been for a really long walk.
