This might be a bit of a silly question, but can you get breath freshener for dogs?
I know you can get denti sticks, which my dog has, but his breath is abit pongy and I wondered if there was anything I can get for it?

Denta sticks don't really do a whole lot. Charcoal fed is sometimes useful. Chances are he may need his teeth scaled, and then after that regular brushing (ie daily) to keep teeth and gums healthy and a little errrm...less doggy!

One of my dogs has v pongy breath too. We always put it down to not drinking water very often. He's a very healthy dog but always had a very sensitive stomach. He also has fits sometimes. Would that plaque off stuff be ok to use on him?

It's often due to plaque build up on their teeth. The denta stix things and the like are useless - they don't do any good at all! The best way to get rid of the plaque on your dogs teeth is to give him a nice lamb bone. He will love it and his teeth will be just as good as if the vet had polished them.

We usually have a lamb roast once a month and I always let my JRT have the bone once we have taken the best of the meat off it. It keeps her entertained for hours and she crunches it up to nothing (although you do need to watch the shards once the joint part has gone).

We also get raw beef bones from the butchers (about 60p each) which they love - the JRT can only just pick them up!

Both options work really well and cost a fraction of the price they charge for the denta stix!

Only let you dog have beef and lamb bones - pork, chicken, etc can splinter and be lethal!
