Dogs and CatS?

We have a new kitten (8 weeks) whose been here since monday, 4/5 dogs are fine with her (as in supervised obviously, but generally just ignoring) but one terrier is fixated and I would suspect if she thought we weren't there might well go for her.
Any tips for smoothing over the introductions? Have borrowed a dog crate and alternated with kitten/dog in it for safe 'hello's.
