Dogs and Myxomatosis

Hi, i'm pretty sure that this cannot cross species, but Hector has dispatched numerous Myxomatosis wabbits recently and i've noticed he woken up with gunky eyes since Tuesday.

Clears during the day, only 1st thing but is quite thick and both eyes.

He is due his booster next week so will obs get vet to look at them then, but just wanted to check, this has no connection has it?

No wouldnt be any relation mixi only effects rabbits, even hares dont get it. Hope his eyes clear up soon. x

Nope what Vizzy said - he just wants some attention after Paddys recent hospital visit

No, they can't catch it but they can pass it on to domestic rabbits if they've been in contact with affected wild rabbit!

Haha yea, hes probably getting pads to poke him in the eyes so you feel sorry for him too

Phew, thanks was 99% but seemed a coincidence as there are so many sickly rabbits about at the mo and i'd far rather he did the job quickly for them.

I did wonder if he was after a bit of sympathy as Pads is milking the 'poor me, having so many eyedrops and so many cuddles'
