Just been to supermarket, on returning to my car I noticed a little dog in the car next to me. Windows were down a little and even though it's not as hot as it has been recently it's still 20 degrees and humid.
I waited 10 mins and no one returned.
I reported it to customer service who took the number and put out a call for the owner.
I left at this point as felt it was being dealt with. Hope I did the right thing. Didn't want to over react but also think it was much too warm to leave a dog in the car.

agree you did the right thing. i always park my car in the shade when i walk my dogs and when i get back the car is quite hot inside and i open all the windows before i put them in and drive off straight away so a breeze comes through and cools the car. ( it doesnt have air con) i dont think people realise how hot cars get even in the shade and with windows open.

Thanks, I sat and waited and even with Windows down It was uncomfortably hot. Dog was panting.
Just don't think people realise how hot cars get even on overcast days.

You did the right thing, I had to report a dog that was in a car on a boiling hot day, the front windows were open and there was a bowl of water but that's not good enough. I could have opened the door but was afraid of the dogs reaction so found our friendly pcso who finally found the family and gave them a good talking too! Perhaps they should make people sit in the car to see what they have put their pet through. Anyway thankfully you were there to help that dog. Well done
