Anyone else ready to sell theirs to the circus or just me?

Arguing and bickering over nothing. Either loving the fans or detesting them - no in between and I feel I’m deaf from the protests of the haters. Youngest is clingy and having some sort of breakdown as hasn’t had a summer before let alone this type of heat and just doesn’t know what to do with himself. All irritable to the point anytime anyone looks at each other there’s a lip curl or grumble.

And of course nobody will use the wet towels or tiles, paddling pools or cool places created…of course.

This is where everyone says their dogs are not driving them bonkers in the heatwave and one are just ass hats

I asked the neighbour if he’d mind closing the Velux in the loft-my OH phoned in a panic because it started to rain (clearly doesn’t get the whole evaporation/precipitation process ??‍♀️) saying he’d left it open. The 4 of them were in the way, Mitch honking, jumping up, thoroughly over-excited, started playfighting with Goose. I locked them all away bar Milo. Shameful. Goose then had a big bark at his football because it was moving weirdly in the paddling pool, then he hid from it. ?

my older terrier is happy to stay indoors out of the sun, which is where i want to be but my youngest terrier and my whippet cross puppy are continually playing in the garden which means i am having to go in the garden and bring them in for their own good.. the terrier will happily cool off in the paddling pool but the puppy isnt at all keen. once they are in the puppy wants to jump on the older terrier(5 years old) who is snoozing. that does not go down well . i seem to be up and down all day getting hot and bothered because of bloomin dogs :mad:

Ha, but we love them! Mine have been given feathers to play with and I’ve closed most of the windows as it’s pouring down. Back door is open and they’re playing outdoors! ??

Mine have been OK, we had an unavoidable long journey yesterday, the thermometer was reading 34° but windows down, air con on, tinted windows, foil sheets up and pails of water.
They were all blowing a bit when we got home but recovered quickly.
I do try and acclimatise them any time it is warmer to prepare for this sort of thing but obviously don't horse them around.
They eldest have been to Germany, Netherlands, Italy in hot weather before, as mentioned before, the tight-coated dog born in DE is the one who flags first in the heat. The fluffy one seems well insulated.

Mostly whippet is being overly clingy, complaining when made to stay indoors, despite the 5am long walk, looking at freshly filled water bowls in disgust, and generally being a total arse about eating food.
Actually, this could be any day of the week

Mine have been very good not mithering for walks, but the older heeler has driven me mad as he insists on lying out in full sun, I have to keep bringing him in. This is the dog who can't possibly run in agility when temperatures reach about 20 degrees !

10yo JRT has been driving me mad with nagging to go outside, where she promptly flops onto the hottest bit of tarmac that she can find in the yard.
The cat has been snippy and whingy about the heat, including going for said JRT if she walks too close to him , and screaming at me constantly because I won't turn the sun down.

Neither of my too enjoy the heat. Daisy in particular struggled and spent a lot of time wearing a cold tea towel.

Neither of mine whinged about a walk, but they were very short tempered with each other. Mrs Collie parked herself in front of the fan. Mrs Spaniel with the thicker coat, mooched about a lot trying to find somewhere cool but not sit in front of the other fan. Both got chucked in the bath a couple of times yesterday to cool down and had frozen lickimats at lunch and their tea frozen in slow feeders.
They seemed to find last night more uncomfortable than the day but we all survived!
We went for our first walk since the weekend this morning at a glorious 20 degrees, I thought they'd be mad with zoomies and excitement but both happy just to potter along and not over-exert themselves.

My old dog has been fine over the 2 day heat wave.
I'm guessing it was because it was a dry heat. He struggles more when it's very humid but only in the mid twenties.

I made frozen kongs yesterday but ended up taking it off the small dog as he got way too in to it, wrestling it around the house obsessively and making himself more hot and bothered. ? Big dog was very stoic about it and had all the fans pointed on her yesterday but is noticeably happier today and choosing to stay out in the garden.

I must have done something to please the weather gods as we're leaving today for a camping agility trip and I did not fancy being a boil-in-the-bag human.

Mine have coped far better than I expected. They have been shut in the house with me, everything closed up and fan on. My older girl didn't want breakfast yesterday and still not interested at lunchtime till I produced a piece of frozen fish. That was snatched and devoured, has been fine since thank goodness.

The dog has done well but was a bit fed up yesterday I think. Her lovely snuggy bed was replaced with a lounging pad and she was very put out. Lots of dramatic flopping down and sighing.

I found one of the feral cats standing with his bottom to the fan with the breeze blowing up his trousers.

Mine is old and set in her ways you can set a clock by her she got quite distressed about not getting her wee and treat at 4pm so I went out and hosed off the tarmac, road and grass to get her out without burning her feet. Neighbours think I am mad but you cannot get out of the house without meeting concrete or carpark

Last night was horrendous, sponging dog down on an hourly basis seemed like ! 30 degrees at 11 pm indoors.
Been out this morning and it feels lovely and cool, when its actually still 26 outside !
