My dog only wants a short walk in the mornings wants to go home after about 10 minutes. he doesnt have any visible arthritic signs. By the afternoon walk he is like a different dog. Wonder if they are like people who take time to get their acts together in the mornings :D

My dog now knows not to bother trying to get me up in the morning lol.
I've had to get him up in the middle of the night on the odd occasion to catch a ferry/start a long drive/get him ready for a competition, he's like a bear. Same as myself haha.

my dogs are morning people. up the yard and then a good walk/run then they sleep the rest of the day.
they do go to the yard in lighter evenings but mostly they are thinking about getting home for supper :)

the setter was terrible, used to have to drag him out of bed any time before 9am-even when he was young.

The two now are up and at 'em by 6 am-weekdays they have their main walk before work, weekends they get breakfast and we chill out for 90mins. They are both crashed out by 9pm-and on the odd occasion I am up past 10.30pm I get alot of huffing!

My Collie would run all day given the chance!
My 4 month old Great Swiss Mountain dog does "socialising" in the local town most mornings, then a romp on the Forest in the afternoon in my attempt to make her sleepy for the evening!

my friends oldie wont get out of bed before 10 am!

I have always had all day dogs!

my GSD was raring to go even if I was leaving the house at 5 am. always wanted to go out with you even if you had just got back from a long walk or run. he happily chilled on the sofa but would always walk or run if required. we could not believe how far spread his cancer was when he got ultrasound as he was still getting up in the morning to go to the yard, he just seemed off.

new dog is a collie and again an all day person! she has a howl of excitement when we get up in the morning! we are normally down about 6 am as baby gets us up. she is never tired, always happy to go out. Although she has now learned to chill in her bed in the evening.

my MIL chihuahuas don't walk- they have never liked it! one of them is buried under a blanket about 22 hours a day!

I often look after my sons dog during the day. Sometimes he bounces in eager to play with my dogs other times he heads straight to bed and dives under the covers. His record for a lie in is 1pm, having last been out at 10pm the previous evening!

My Cairn is up and about at 6am she stops about 9pm although at the weekend this was 7 pm as she had been at the beach.

My dogs are up for a walk or fun at any time it's offered. But they will chill out or wait till I am ready.
They mostly get a short morning walk and a lot longer afternoon one but that is just what suits me. If I don't get on with it after lunch, I might get a tiny bit of nagging!!

The whippets will get up for breakfast and then go straight back to bed. They are NOT interested in walks :D But come the afternoon they will be bouncing around waiting to go out.

Though it's all about routine really... they know that we all go out to work on a morning and are happy to lay in bed alllll day until we get back (when we come home at lunch sometimes they don't even bother getting up). When the pup was younger he got 2 walks a day and went in the morning and then it was a different story.

We walk at 6 am and they are keen to get out but my oldest (only 6 so still not "old") would happily pee, poop, then go straight back into the house for his breakfast....he has been known to just turn and run home up the field wee monster!!!! lol but in the afternoon he takes no persuasion to walk for miles and miles. Because I work I like to give them a good long walk in the Morning. Once he is out of view of the house he is fine

It's rare I see my dog before 8am, he gets up usually around 9. The he goes out, has breakfast, has a quick 30 mins snooze then bounces around until 1pm, then snoozes again until around 5pm. He's asleep now :) He's pretty active in an evening and goes to bed at 1030pm. He's def an evening person.

Lazy morning dogs seem common then ! Mine spends 9 hours sparko on my bed, comes downstairs when I get up, has a wee then straight onto the chair for another sleep till morning walk, which as previous post is about 10 mins. I am told that the fact he is part corgi is the reason as they are apparently known for being lazy?
