Dogs on drugs

I was told to ask for a referral for Dex to be put on prozac or whatever the doggy equivalent is, not by my vet I might add. I declined.

I guess it may well have calmed him down a bit, and given him the opportunity to learn faster as he was in a calmer state of mind, but the thought of him drugged, and even worse the withdrawals when coming off them did not sit well with me.
 
it is scary that the article mentioned non of the side effects like the massive increase in heart rate that could kill a dog with a heart condition. oh yippe a hallucinating dog thats a safe idea!!!

why did he feel the need to keep his husky going for the extra few weeks when PTS would alleviate the dogs suffering?
i can understand people using it for medical reasons but thats cos you cant put people down and it is their decision.
