Allowed to run free - but - pick up poo, no fighting, no barking, no roaming, no nuisance making - break these rules and dog goes on lead - break rules again - no dog allowed on yard...

Sorry - I like dogs on yards but some people and dogs are uncontrollable so rules are necessary..

Opted for other as I think it depends on the dog and owner combination, if its well behaved then off or on the lead as the owner wants, if it isn't keep it in the car/away from the yard thanks. Sorry if that seems harsh but I got quite fed up at my old yard of nearly running over dogs or trying to stop them getting kicked when they ran riot round the yard and horses legs.

My yard has a no dog rule bar the owners which is really quite well behaved.

I ticked other- I HATE dog owners who let their dogs loose then forget about them, and just sit around chatting not even wondering where their dog is... when I take tassy onto the yard she is on the lead most of the time unless its just my horses tied up( I dont want her to get under anyones feet- she's very good with my horses) or we are walking to and from the field.(she loves to trot along side us as we walk back and occasionally trot off to sniff a poo or rabbit hole)

Never.

They are a pain in the ar$e, if not to liveries then to horses or fighting with YO's dogs.

Hear hear.

If only I had a pound for every time I've heard someone say "My dog is very well behaved and won't be a bother" only to find said dog ******** or pissing in the hay barn. Or "just saying hello" to my horse, ie trying to bite his back legs. Or putting dog slobber in my horse's clean water.

Luckily my 20 years as a livery are behind me and I have my own place where dogs are not allowed.
