Dogs poisoned at show

so far 2 dogs have died and many more are in vet clinic due to being deliberately poisoned by some sick person. This happened today at an international dog show held in San Marino here in Italy. The poison used was strychnine which was sprayed on the grass so any dog licking his feet etc was automatically poisoned. Thank god no children were involved!

That is horrendous.... hope the person responsible is caught and punished.

Dogs were known to be knobbled at shows in the past - happened to the woman who bred one of ours. Went for a cuppa, came back to the bench, not long after the dog ways very wobbly and drowsy. I hope whoever did it really enjoyed their nice shiny rosette, it was so well deserved.....

That is horrendous, sounds like someone anti dog rather than picking on a specific dog. I have seen a dog die of strychnine poisoning and it is not an experience I ever want to repeat As CC says there was a time when a lot of dogs were being "got at" over here, made you afraid to leave your dog for a second.

Wow not suprised people are angry. Why on earth wasn't the show moved to another venue.
