I have measured the pony for a be nice halter - he needs a 37 inch - they come in 36 or 38

Is it better to have them slightly too big or slightly too small?

I'd say slightly too big, as long as its not so big it could slip off.

I'd say slightly too big too as you might be able to make it smaller if needed but doubt you would be able to mske one larger if needed if that makes sense!

Think about it like this you had a pair of jeans one pair was too small one was slightly too big which would you prefer?

Actually - I would go with the slightly too small pair - I HATE it when my jeans are constantly trying to be friends with my ankles

I'd go with the small pair too because it would motivate me to diet (I've actually got about 4 pairs of trousers though that i've done this with and never wear as i skip the dieting bit!)

For the halter though, i'd go with the larger one!
