sorry this is so long...Since moving my horses to the livery yard a few weeks ago,everything has been going great,there was a few days domino was hard to catch because i had put cream on his burnt nose but i always caught him,he has bolted away while leading 2 times but apart from that he has been so good.For a few days i would lead them to the stables and work on turning his hip/shoulders/back up/walk on now he follows you without having to put pressure on the rope.Last week we moved them into the field with all the other horses (there are only 12 including mine) phoenix was so scared of them and hid behind domino.They have been in the school a few times and i have just worked on leading,done join up once and today....i actually sat on him for the 3rd time since december and he was amazing.I only walked on him for 2 minutes while my brother in law led him (i wasnt expecting to go on him so didnt have reins or a hat) and...we actually managed to hose domino all over.He circled around but never pulled once. will leave the shampoo for next time though.We did wash phoenix ( first bath since buying him) he circled most of the time but the water was really cold.He is starting to look REALLY nice Most days i tie them up and groom them so they have both gotten so good at standing tied and ignoring all the food lying around.The owner of the livery told me today that someone told him my horses still have lice so will phone the vet tomoorow to have her come out to check and to see to dominos teeth while she is out and next month i will get the massage therapist for domino and HOPEFULLY that will be the end of vet bills for a while Phonix's moustache is actually starting to grow back and they both had bald patches that are clearing away (from lice) so wouldnt that mean the lice are away ???? phoenix does still have a flaky scalp....here are a few pics-DOES IT LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE LICE STILL ??? could it be mites ?

HOW CUTE DOES HE LOOK:eek::)

JUST SOME PHOTOS FROM THE PAST WEEK

AND THIS IS JACK-A 4 YO COB I HAVE BEEN LOANING SINCE LAST WEEK FROM THE SAME LIVERY YARD DOMINO AND PHOENIX ARE AT.

gorgeous horses glad you are at a livery yard as I think it will be better for the 3 of you (I've certainly benefited from being at a livery).

Sorry can't comment on the lice/mites, but great to see an update and they are looking lovely.

Well done Marie. They both look great from the tips of their ears to their neat little toes :) domino is a handsome boy and Phoenix s growing up. Hope you've solved the Lice problem. Horrible little critters :)

Just to reiterate what everyone else has said, they are looking fantastic... A huge improvement, their feet look great, they are a lovely weight, their coats look glossy, love the ringlet mane :D. It's great to see you are at a livery, it will be great for Phoenix especially having lots of friends, as well as adult horses that he can watch and learn from. Sounds like you've all made a lot of headway and they look really happy in their new home.

It's great to see.

Great to see an update, { you sure do like your coloureds don't you :)}
They are looking great, regards fleas, I can not tell to much from the photos but it looks like scurf to me, give the area a vigourous brushing and see if it brings more scurf off.

Thank you all so much,yeah i love coloureds:D Someone at the livery yard said she checked both horses for about 5 minutes and didnt see anything and said it is probably just someone being bitchy.The worst thing about having horses are the people you need to deal with.:mad: Phoenix has learnt a new trick already 'smile'.

Just a quick qoestion-I went to view a horse with one of my big sisters today it is a 13hh 2 yo coloured cob filly to make 14hh.She was good to pick up her feet although they were a bit overgrown,she was good to lead,spooked once but just jumped and did pull to the grass alot but obviously with a bit of work and time would get better.The only thing is she hasnt got a passport or been microchipped,i know they are cheap enough to get but is it easy enough for her to get them ? here are a couple pictures,what do you think ?

While it is not an offence to buy a horse without a passport, it is ILLEGAL to sell one without a passport.

if I were you I'd use that to get the price right down ;)

To get her passported would be around £70 including the vet callout and ID fee.

Thanks,think she still wants to go for it but still debating.She wrote to the seller askinf for £80 to be tooken off the price then he said she is worth more than that and you wouldnt find any other 2 yo that friendly for that price (which is probably true,especially for a filly) The seller said he could lower £50-that is for horse and him bringing the horse to her.She will be delivered on thursday if she says yes,she is buying a 14.2hh cob from a riding school for her 13 yo neice for christmas but just wanted something for now which is why she doesnt want to pay so much.The sellers 12 yo daughter sat on the 2 yo filly today and they said she is a good weight carrier and they have had a 15 stone man sit on her :mad::eek: think they thought we would be impressed:eek: just wasnt sure if it was illegal to buy a horse with no passport.
