Will it work if I can't get it under tongue? This is going to be pretty difficult with my pony who is now suspicious of any syringe type things going near or into his mouth and very quickly then gets wound up and silly.

I used a tube for my last clip, I managed to get most of it under the tongue, the excess I used my finger (using gloves) and wiped it onto her gums. I was worried it wouldn't work as well, but 45 mins later she was sedated.

I found the only way I could give it to my horse was to put his bridle on with a drop noseband done up fairly tightly. Then he could open his mouth to spit the gel out. He was quite relaxed about it then.

I have heard of people applying it onto their gums, but this must be done with surgical gloves on because it's really powerful stuff. Also, the vet advised me that if you do drop any, then you must pick it up to avoid any dogs etc licking it.

ETA: It won't work if it's swallowed as it relies on being absorbed via the mucus membranes in the mouth. It's great stuff though!
