Hi all

Have an opportunity for me and my headstrong, feisty but sensitive mare to do a gridwork clinic with Donald Kear, just wondering if anyone has any experiences of him as a jump trainer.

Is he good with that type of horse? Experiences welcome by post or PM.

Thanks

I had a gridwork lesson with him once, wasn't very impressed, I went for one around 2ft6 and the fences did not get to that height so wasn't very happy, my horse is quite strong and any gridwork will help them but I didn't get on with him as an instructor, personal preference though he is very high up in the BHS so worth a try!

I had him at senior camp for a few years running and i found him really good. (about 5/6 yrs ago) He always managed to push me to do things i wouldn't normally do. He did alot of grid work and oftens sets them on angels with skinnys in the middle etc etc depending on what you need to work on.

My trainer who is a 4* rider has had lessons with him when he has been in our area.

Def worth ago as you won't know whether you get on with him until you try.

Thanks everyone, think I'll give it a go and see how we get on. My horse is not easy so I have to make sure that trainers appreciate her querky ways and can work with them rather than fight to change her.

Sorry, no spaces left.
