Just been looking through the youngstock, they have some beauties for sale at such good prices too, has anyone bought one over from ireland and if so how much does it cost etc?
My mum is looking for a horse and i wouldnt mind another youngster.
thanks

I have 4 on there at the moment and have had a few enquiries from the Uk.It isnt so bad if potential buyers come here as we are only an hour away from Rosslare. It shouldnt cost too much to bring one back.Alot of equine transport companies do door to door which may cost extra.Make sure you shop around as I am sure all companies differ. There is Doran Equine,Ballinroe, and numerous other companies who do regular trips to the UK.

bring one back on the ferry or what? What about if you buy a horse in Galway and then have to get it boxed across to the east coast, then box it from west coast of England to wherever you are. Surely it'll be a lot more than 200

Or am i living in the dark ages and they're flown over

lol no you're not living in the dark ages! Horses are still ferried over but Irish transporters don't charge anywhere near as much as English ones.

I brought 2 horses over from England - £250 each door to door from South mids of england to north east of Northern Ireland :-)

However - I couldn't find a single transporter that wanted to bring a horse from the south west coast of ireland up to the north east coast. They pretty much all do weekly transport from ireland to england & back again which is where the savings are as they will usually only travel when they have a full load
