Before I give myself a nervous breakdown please could someone help me with this BD query.

I ride at bronze level, does this mean that I can’t compete at Regionals even if I got enough points over the qualifying percentage?

it’s my first year, can you tell. The bd rule book will be the death of me ?

There are no bronze sections at regionals, only area festivals. If you want to do regionals you need to enter the silver section at your chosen level

Thank you so much for your reply. I didn’t think as a bronze they’d let me do silver.

As long as you are a full member rather than a club member you can enter bronze, silver or gold classes as you wish.
The B/S/G sections are to protect the less experienced riders / combinations. If a bronze rider wants to step up to silver there is nothing to stop them. However a silver rider wouldn’t be allowed to drop down to bronze.

It depends on your membership, rather than the level. I am competing at Bronze level prelim under a 'club' membership. This allows me to compete at regular BD competitions, but if I were to qualify for anything I would have to upgrade myself and the horse to full membership to compete in that competition.

As others have said you can only do the Pet Plans if competing in the bronze section, If you complete silver you can elect to do either Pet Plans or Regionals. There is nothing stopping you competing in silver or gold if you wish. In fact my trainer says it is best to compete gold as there are more places available at the Nationals.
