Took Hal to RC show y'day. Had a fantastic lesson on Thursday, was really listening and softening through, obviously payed off. Started off with just novice SJ, which was a bit of a disastor as the colourful fillers were causing a few problems, will be working on that at home now though. Then went in riding club horse showing, jumped v. stylishly (all hard work is paying off!), and pulled up 3rd, which means he's qualified for ultimate showcase of champions at great yorkshire showground, and riding club champs at myerscough! Going to take him to the first, as not far at all, but myerscough is a bit of a trek so won't bother! Took him in hunter class next, didn't do so well, got pulled up 4th, he behaved and was showing off with his paces, but was rather hollow.
All the gridwork is finally paying off with his showjumping, however have decided to just aim to have a go at intro next season, so we have all this season for sj focus, then autumn/winter dressage and hunter trialling.
Bit self-indulgent, but v. pleased as the donkey thing I purchased a year and a half ago is finally turning into a 'proper horse'! Hopefully will get some photos up soon!
