Any common personality traits, general information in his progeny? I know he is a very famous Stallion and there are lots of horses sired by him. I am just interested as I am riding a horse by him at the moment and he is quirky to say the least! So I would find any information on other Donnerhall horses interesting. Thanks :)

Keep your eyes peeled for his offspring from Thursday on :) In terms of horses competing in the Olympic dressage Donnerhall appears on the list 4 times as sire, 1 time as damsire, and 1 time as 2nd damsire. His son Don Schufro appears on the list 5 times as sire. And son De Niro appears on the list 8 times as sire.

Very, very prepotent line for producing upper level talent and I have always heard they are trainable. Maybe the quirkyness comes from mum and her bloodlines? Or just the way your horse is as an individual. Good luck with him :)

I have a Don Renoir (Donnerhall) mare, I wouldn't say she was quirky but she is sensitive and intelligent.

She is too smart for her own good and she knows what I want before I'm even thinking it and anticipates it.

Despite her breeding mine prefers jumping over dressage, but that seems to comes from her dam line.

Good luck with him, I'm sure he's stunning, as they all seem to be.

Thanks everyone, he isn't mine unfortunately but he is a lovely horse and I am very lucky to have the opportunity to ride him. He is trained up to Medium Level and is certainly teaching me a thing or two!!

I sadly had to have my Don Schufro gelding PTS last November due to high grade Wobblers. I have to say his was the best horse I have ever had, paces to die for and the nicest 'person' to boot. It has taken me since last November until now to be able to face looking at horses for sale as he's left very big boots to fill.

In my experience "Donnerhorses" have excellent temperaments and are more sane than say Sandro Hit offspring (remember someone referring to them as Sandro *****s, which made me laugh)!

We have a Don Primaire (Donnerhall) mare, 6 years old. She is very sharp to ride but temperament wise she is perfect.
Currently being trained for affliate dressage. First competition in October.
We think she will be something very special.

I have had 2 with Donnerhall on top line of pedigree. My first by Dancier unfortunately was PTS at 2 due to keratoma but he was easy to handle, amenable, brave and laid back. My curent one is by Don Henrico and he is such a lovely kind trainable and laid back chap despite the Trakehner on the motherline.

It is interesting when seeing Sandro Hit progeny for sale how many have Rubinstein on the motherline. No coincidence I'm sure ;-)
