If you do beware the mobile dead zones, never take any of the clients at face value (usually only female ones though). Be prepared for your own horses to always end up being the last to be shod and prepare throughly for divorce!

Cobblers and children spring to mind - I married a plumber and its only when I get all the tools out to mend a leaky tap does he do anything about it

Having one in the family, who when he does decide he will bestow his presence upon us, pulls my horses conformation to pieces, they are much better left at arms length thank you. On the other hand my current farrier is punctual (to a fault) pleasant (although not overly cheerful) and reliable! Worth his weight in gold. Oh and he says he wouldnt ever entertain dating/living with a horsey woman cos we are all round the bend!!!!!!!!!!!

kind of similar but different. I was brought up in the house of a very successful building company owner. Money never seemed to be a problem - but our house was always on the verge of falling down.

likewise, with my house now. husband has decided to fix leaks of many years only because family from abroad are visiting.

woops!! l am already married to a farrier!!! And yes cobblers children spring to mind but having said that my horse has to have very expensive gel pads so it does save me a fortune in shoeing bills

I left getting back into horses too late to think about the advantages of marrying some horsey help (and a good thing too by the sound of it) but I have got three children now - so I have told them one has to be a farrier, on a vet and one has to marry someone very very rich to enable them to buy me an expensive horsey residence. I have told them I don't mind who does what though

Haha that made me giggle - bit late to do anything about it now.....I'm about to buy a house with one!

My horse is STILL waiting to be shod.....it's such a hassle luring him down to do mine that I have to make little bribes!

BUT....on the flip side - they do look rather sexy in their dirty jeans, boots and aprons and all sweaty

Mechanics.......ditto!
On the other hand my husband reckons he did quite well out of the deal, not only am I a Nursery Nurse but was Housekeeper in several hotels and private homes too. He is under the false impression that I actually did the housekeeping myself rather than delegating though
