So can anyone give me any tips on where to start and what to expect?
I have done a few of the Warlingham Mock hunts and really enjoyed them even though my horse pulled me so much that i was in tears the following evening with pain!!!

Would probably like ones that have a fair amount of jumping, but not really huge - up to about 3ft6?

Also, what are the costs involved and do i need to join a club?

Any tips gratefully received!!!

Hi Hammiehamlet

Well I'm not exactly a pro, but love going out with the Coakham Bloodhounds. Am hoping to go to the one at Larkins Brewery in Chiddingstone in a fortnight.

I literally only go twice a year as I'm saving like mad for Eventing! But it's £50 a go or £300 for 7 hunts if you pay up front.

The jumps vary, and Rosie and I managed a 4ft hedge with a 5ft drop but chickened out at the 5ft hedge with the 4ft drop!!

No, seriously, most are a lot smaller than that and you can get round most of the stuff you don't fancy. Everyones' really friendly and if you fall off they catch your horse and make sure you're OK and you get to join the 'Fallers Club'!!

I used to go to the Mock Hunts at Warlingham, so if you can stay on and in control there you'll be fine with anything else because from what I remember Mock Hunting, people were always out of control and falling off here there and everywhere!! Still blimin' good fun though!!

I haven't been out with any of the Foxhunts for a while. I think the Southdown and Eridge is now £65, don't know about the OSB&WK. If you're a complete newcomer, I think they do special offers so it might be worth asking??
