We went to the vets today to have my SJ rescanned after his bilateral suspensory ligament operation. Its coming on well however he is still slightly lame - this should improve further with more exercise as he has some sacro iliac pain as well. Oh yes and he is currently 18 which is why I bought the youngster to bring on for when he started to retire - unfortunately didn't realisee this maybe sooner than I anticiapted!!

Well I don't really want another summer of not competing. I've got a 5yr old to bring on wich I bought 2 summers ago who should be ready this ssummer to start going to shows / clinics and gradually build up what he is doing when we are out. However not going to be ready for any real competitve work until summer 2008 - although he looks as though he is going to be good.

My mum has also got a NF who she tolerates but doesn't really like. I do compete him up to 2ft6-2ft9 however I really want to be competing at 3ft and above. The pony will owever jump 3ft 10 in chase me charlie and will jump up to 3ft3 at jump cross. Just seems to have a thing about fillers - but not all the time.

So what do I do:
1) Sell the pony and just concentrate on the other 2.
2) Sell the pny and save the money until I can find something that can jump above 3ft.
3) Keep the pony and just have some fun on him.

My mum says 2 and my partner says 3 - I can argue it in all ways so any advice is appreciated

it depends really on what you want to do the most if you love the pony more than wanting to jump above 3ft then i would say that you should keep the pony! But then if your mind come before your heart then sell the pony and find something else to compete! Dont forget though you should buy something new soon to get to know it before you compete it!
