Hi all

My horse is stuck in the protection zone

, so far have missed Smiths

and just WD from Brockenhurst Park

as there is another outbreak of F&M and looks like they will not be lifting restrictions.

So my horse is bursting at the seems, jumped twice out of her field day before yesterday and I am feeling stir crazy too

My question is do I WD from Highclere ? Do I leave alone for a while? Do I enter Goring and hope things might improve? Arrggghhhh

I know really, none of you can answer these questions, I'm just frustrated at having to work so hard to event and loosing entry fees and having my horse fit and bored

Sorry moan over

It must be so frustrating. I wouldn't withdraw from Highclere for another week or so as I expect they will be able to fill your place quite easily - maybe ring the secretary and check.

As for entering others I suppose I would on the theroy that events are so oversubscibed if you do withdraw your entry will probably be filled, again maybe check with secretaries.

I think the restriction is going to be in place a fair while longer

Would it be possible to get a license and move her to a yard outside the restriction zone until the restrictions are lifted? Then you may be able to compete.....

During the last outbreak of F and M my horse was stuck at a vets after breaking his leg. This was costing me a fortune and in the end I managed to get a licience to transport him to his livery yard. It might be a good idea to see if you could get yourself a livery outside of the zone as it could go on for the rest of the season.

Hiya !!!
Im in exactly the same boat ! - How frustrating, cant even go for a bloody hack ! Ive just text steve to ask for a jump lesson as i need some adrenalin! Considering Jim - but dont think I need that much adrenalin!
I think hold fire, they are saying that the license situation could change any day so just leave it as long as possible.
Im going to enter Goring and then withdraw if I need to.
Im going to offer CL my place at brockenhurst and then if the situation changes ill take it back !
Bet Saf is desperate for a Party !

Thanks SJ, will make some phone calls and see what they say

Boss, I have had an offer at another yard, but there are no licences being issued at the moment, Defra say something different each time someone rings up from the yard, I think I might be more stir crazy than Saf

Hi ya S

Am finding it really hard, my lesson with Jim was fantastic on wed, a 5 fence grid with the oxer in the middle with strides of 8,7,8,7 to make her think and stop her taking control, worked so well and enden up jumping far bigger than I would normally but he made the exercise seem easy, good old Scraf bag

Have a paper licence ready but can't use them yet and they say they take 7 days.
I need to make a decision on Goring today as ballot tomorrow argh
Hows UV
