Don't like snuggy Hoods/turnout hoods but has anyone used this o

Highly rate my snuggy hoods. Luckily for me their repair service is also second to none. The hood is supposed to be showerproof, but it's better than that. Brought mine in on Thursday to find his helpful equine baby friends in the adjourning field had undone his neck straps on his rug. He was still dry underneath.

i rate these but would rather have the one with the face on to keep it is place and very important to get the right size of course.

I use these. The concept is v good and it always stays in place though it doesn't sit right behind the ears (slips down neck very slightly). They do get wet but they dry quickly and the keep the pony mostly clean. Do still get muddy behind the ears but the majority of her neck stays clean. I would never use one with a face as I've seen horses get in a right pickle in them.
My 'issue' with their products is the quality isn't brilliant. They just don't seem to last long at all. So I do buy them but I won't pay full price and buy 1 a year in the January sale.

I have always used snuggy hoods and rate them highly. I have never personally had a problem with the face but ended up cutting all the faces off mine after witnessing accidents and deciding not to risk it. Delighted when the headless ones were released by snuggy hoods and have two of them -- stay in place really well (much better than the ones I "adjusted" myself hehe). Used under a neck rug to prevent rubbing on hay feeder or by itself without neck + in summer to keep clean with a fly sheet before shows.

I have the one without the head for my hunter/cob type. Fits very well and gives enough coverage to have a little less to scrap the mud off. Also a nice snuggly layer too.

(One of the kids ponies used to wear a hood a lot until I went into the field and found that he had it completely over both eyes, having rolled and managed to twist it around. Luckily he was quite sensible and I thought could just about see shadows through the fabric so was not completely blind, but there was the potential for a horrible accident)

Yes, I have these hoods. They work fine, but don't keep the rain out : if it rains hard the neck will get wet - not a problem really, except perhaps in your case? I use them to repel mud, and flies (have two sweetitch lads).

if you wash them with plenty of fabric conditioner this seems to help with the weatherproofing to some degree

I love the Snuggy Hoods stuff, some of mine is 4 years old and has lasted and worn well. I use the headless hoods for my itchy pony and have fixed a small metal crocodile clip at the poll which I clip on to a few strands at the top of the mane which holds the hood up if the velcro comes loose, if the pony gets tangled he will just pull a few strands of mane out. I no longer use the full face ones because my pony itches and dislodges them however do know several people who use them with no problems - the fit of these is more critical than the headless ones
