I have to buy a new head collar, as Blitz has outgrown his "pony" sized one.

He was gelded on Monday, so nothing to hold back that upward growth now... *gulp*

Haha... sorry, my computer is really lagging today (need to defrag my hard drive).

I don't think my friend would be too impressed if her appy suddenly lost his spots!

He's going to be a nice looking horse :D And HUGE  if those are normal sized stables and he's not even a year old.............

On a serious note, that looks like a huge amount of growing he's done in a month and I'd be try to slow it down as much as possible to save joints etc. Nothing but hay/grass and possibly restricted at that. He's better covered than I'd like such big horse to be at his age (they should be a little ribby coming out of winter). Has he come from a meat farm? I knw you're in that kind of area and he looks just the type. He may well have been 'forced' until now.

BB22: I think he's some kind of European draft. Percheron type. He's going to be bloody massive by the looks of it! Casey lives in Austria (?)

Thanks all :) He is standing approx 14.1hh (at the front) at the moment.

Blitz is a Mérens (thanks ischa :) ), and although they are generally small horses, his dad is an outlier and massive

He isn't quite so fat, Kallibear, he has a huge thick coat, and you fan feel his ribs easily once you get your hands on him, and see the shadow of them when he turns a circle. He has only been off his breeders yard a month, and is now getting less than 1/3 of the hard feed he was getting before, and has actually lost the "rounded" look he had when he first arrived for weaning.

Strong looking horse, but look at it's feet, do they not have farriers in France.
