My horse has done 8/9 weeks box rest and Im supposed to be increasing his daily walk but have been struggling. Hes very laid back, then will suddenly squeal and bronk. It took 2 of us to get him back on the yard yesterday and the night before he was spinning round me having a dicky fit, not something you want with a mending fractured leg. Got home each night depressed and moaning to non horsey hubby who nods and grunts with that 'yeah right' look in his eyes. So tonight he turns up at stables pretending to be Monty Roberts so I walked Jay expected him to freaked out and the little sod walked like he'd been sedated. Im sure hubby thinks Ive lost the plot. Then normally moody horse licks hubby to death like a little lamb, ears forward and everything. Think I'll let hubby sort him out in future!!!

Yup, guarenteed -every time.

When my horse was lame it took me 3 weeks to convince anyone else he was lame because he always trotted up sound whenever anyone else was around.

- Horses seem to have the knack of doing this. Many years ago I had an old cob who would never be caught without being chased round the field for 30mins (and wouldn't come anywhere near you if he saw a headcollar in your hand), my brother wanted to ride, so I sent him out to catch him (safe in the knowledge I had half hour to muck out in), I sniggered slightly as I say my brother walking into the field with the headcollar in full view, just to watch my cob walk straight up to him and virtually put his head in the headcollar for him.
