I'm planning on doing some local shows with my 14.2hh welsh x arab. Just best turned out, best ridden pony, best ridden hunter pony etc. I'm a showing novice so...

I don't have a double bridle and don't want to invest in one until we start the showing season and i'm sure we both want to stick with it! I have a pelham for him but at home i mostly ride in his snaffle, but hes happy in either.

So the question is do i ride him in his snaffle or his pelham with double reins?

Thank you.

I would've though do best turned out, pony club pony/family pony type and working hunter pony/ jumping (if he jumps nicely in a snaffle!:p) classes in a snaffle, and then riding/ hunter classes in a pelham with two reins, because I think it is correct to be in a double/pelham for these classes, although for local level doesn't matter so much, but I'm no expert either! :o :D
