Double bridles and martingales

When using a running martingale with a double bridle, do you put the martingale on the top or bottom rein? I don't want to use a standing martingale but want to have comfort of having a martingale there if I need it!

On the snaffle rein IMHO but you see people put both reins through the ring, some put only the curb through

So, up to you really, there isn't one *RIGHT* way, as someone else will tell you it is wrong LOL!

on the top rein.. and i'd have it a bit longer than normal too. (only a bit tho)

on the snaffle rein - make sure you have reinstops on it!!

only ever on the snaffle rein, although i'd use a loose standing martingale instead, if the horse really needed a martingale, as there's no interference between hand and horse's mouth that way.

For BE you are not allowed to put the bottom rein of a two-rein bridle through the rings of a running martingale.
