I'd like a cheap double bridle for Gov - I did consider a sliphead and new noseband but that works out as roughly the same as a new bridle. Are there any nice ones around the £60 mark or below?

I won't cut corners on the bits (a rather pricey neue schuele set) so as cheap but quality as possible?

Also he needs a couple of new turnout (with neck - integrated or seperate) rugs and an under rug with neck.

Any recommendations for MW-HW T/Os? He's a WB type and fits Mark Todds well but I find they aren't the most waterproof in the world - though clearly I can reproof.

And good under-rugs which don't move around too much?

Thanks.

Rugs wise, Weatherbeeta are the best value. They fit brilliantly and are lovely but if you are willing to splurge, Rambo are the best by far. Their heavyweight rugs are lovely and are very waterproof. Weatherbeeta mediumweights are really lovely, although their heavyweights arent as good as the Rambo.

Sabre bridles are fab quality, relatively inexpensive compared to some, ive got 3 sabre eton bridles 2 of these are doubles 1 blk 1brw to match saddles!! and an everyday bridle, i buy direct from sabre, they are very helpful and friendly to deal with.

I have a cheap Kincade double bridle, probably not the best quality leather but it looks smart when its clean and oiled and I don't use it everyday anyway so it doesn't need to be able to stand up t regular use. I've had people comment on it so it clearly doesn't look cheap.

What size head has he got? Is he a heavy warmblood or a light one?

I recently sold my light warmblood and now have a rather heavy draught - as such his double is now sat on my stair bannisters gathering dust and would like a new home!

for under rugs i use amigo stable rugs, have been fab, and wash well in a machine

for TO i personally use and love rambo, but premier equine rugs get alt of votes on here, and someone at the yard has most of their range

and they appear to be really lovely, well made rugs

Keep an eye out on ebay - I got a lovely Sabre double for £50, bought reins separately and got two pairs for <£10. My hhorse has a big, common head and the cheap end doubles were too fine for him, plus they all had buckles on the outside of the cheekpieces/slipheads which I can't bear. The Sabre one has a lovely wide padded noseband - much more like a dressage bridle than a showing one.

Bridles - Rhinegold are surprisingly nice, I've just bought a Rolled one from them which I like. Do check out ebay too, another option is waiting until end of December and ordering from www.vtosaddlery who do a 25% off everything sale and have reasonable UK shipping.

Rugs - Rambos although lots seem to like PE stuff

E-bay are often good finds! (if look properly)

Where about in the country are you? if you are near me in the NW! there is a shop called Derby House which do brands or their own, their own are cheaper but good quality, and another (smaller) saddlery is Oakfield which do their own brand or brands and again good quality.
both have websites if you want to look......
but I agree with all other brands mentioned here too!
