Double Standards

After having our horses in 24/7, we were told Thursday they could go out whilst we muck out only. However for the last 2 days the YO horses have been out for about 3hrs, stopping ours going out as they only want a couple out at a time. When I asked if they were coming in so mine could go out I was told they were out coz they couldn't catch them

It's so annoying because I saw her bring them in with no such problems. Maybe I wont be able to catch mine tomorrow

I would move yards !! I bet YO would catch them for you but wont let you try and catch hers for her... That is soo annoying

Oh yes, it is double standards, but it's her yard and she can do what she wants,
It's the same on our yard, our horses get to go out 4 days a week and YO'S are out 24/7

Double standards or not, the YO is the YO and they are probably going to put themselves and their horses first..
so you simply have to decide if you can put up with that, it isn't likely to change

It is their yard so yes it is their choice......however livery yard owners are scrutinised at every step, so perhaps not a wise choice for them to make.

Fair or not she is the YO and can do as she pleases.
Might be time to think about changing yards though.

Gooses and Ganders is the first thought that springs to mind !!I would not be happy paying for the YO to ear my horses grass

But its the YO's grass? She owns the property so can decide to put her horses first if she wants to.
I agree it isn't perfect but it's up to her!

Although I understand your fury, can I put it in another context?
You decide you have two spare rooms in your home you can rent out, are you going to give the biggest, most comfortable room to your lodgers or keep it for you?! if you have an ensuite bathroom will you share it or expect them to use the main one?

What you should remember is the owner has bought the property for her, and what's left over spare she rents out. You are not on equal terms re grazing etc, but subject to what excess she has, even though you pay well for it.
most yard owners keep fields totally for their own use, so you're lucky she shares with you....
The only way round this is to rent facilities yourself, then you have contol over them...

That sucks, but unless you have a contract that states you are permitted X turnout. I don't know what you can do, except look for another yard.
