Sorry but I have to post this because what happened tonight really warmed me.
I have 2 horses Doug a clydie x and Mcfly a gypsy vanner cob. Doug is 16.3 and the other lad 14.3 now normally Doug bites the cob on his bum or else tries to boss him around.
Mcfly is green and still quite a baby mentally as I only got him last year ( now 7) and he had only been broken in by his former owners last summer after living out for the last 6 years.
I reckon he looks up to Doug who is 16 and has been there and done it and got the t shirt lol
Mcfly will move out his way when Doug pulls the 'let me show you my teeth' face lol.
Tonight me and my other half went down to the yard to check on them and while I had been patting and rubbing Doug, Paul my partner did the same with Mcfly.
Mcfly has several spots he loves being scratched on and I just love it when his head drops and his nose and lips scrunch up and quivers.
Up until now I have not been able to have the same result with Doug. Until tonight lol. I found his spot right under his belly and he loves it lol. So much that he was drooling lol.
It was great to have that reaction as he can be quite an aloof character and will not show you much affection unlike the young cob who will quite happily rest his head on your shoulders for a fuss.
Anyhow all of a sudden Doug stretched out his neck to Mcfly and I was prepared for Mcfly to jump away out of reach of his teeth. But instead Doug started to groom his neck and mane. Aw it was lovely to watch as I have never seen them do it before. Even after spending hours watching them in the field it is the first time I have witnessed the big lad grooming him.
While I stood scratching Doug I asked other half to record it on his phone.
