Hello bitting experts, can you help??
I have just (last week!) started riding a gorgeous ex racer (gelded and off the track 7yrs now, although he refuses to believe it
) he is really succesful showing where he is ridden in a swales but the owner mentioned (possibly upon seeing me knitting with the double reins
) that she might put him in something simpler (single reined) over the winter...
Have you any ideas what we could use as an alternative? The bottom rein is genuinely needed once his blood is up, and the swales works brilliantly for him becase the emphasis is on the bars of the mouth and the curb with minimal poll pressure so a gag wouldn't work... any other ideas??
