Went out with the Readyfield Bloodhounds today for their charity meet at Thorseby. Met the lovely Stinkerstonkersmum and Donkey at the meet, and we set off at 12.30. Goddy was wired. Couldnt keep his head still as was so fidgety/excited so had a scary first half, where we didnt do queuing as G would just leap in the air and gallop at the fence, and get angry if I made him wait! So spent alot of time waving at his "fans" (so he thinks!!) However, he jumped everything asked of him beautifully. Second run I changed bits at the lorry in our break, still had no brakes, but he was a little bit tired so a bit more rideable. Lots of post and rails to be jumped, including a great big S shape with three fences in the middle of the wood, so you strayed off line and came smack into a tree!

Luckily noone had that happen to them!! We had a splash round in a river which Goddy insisted on going down the "human" steps into (imagine 16.2 horse fairying down "normal" footpath steps down a steep river bank!) and overall although massively strong, was nice to feel was on a horse who waould get to the other side of whatever he was put at.

We did have one sticky moment at a post and rail off the road which Goddy got a bit deep at and clipped, and unfortuantely it was wired together, so no give. He stayed on his feet (apparently miraculously!) but found when got back this evening he had a nice tear in his front boot....that would have been his leg if it wasnt for boots!

Overall an eventful (lots of fallers!) but a fantastically organised event as per usual from the Readyfield
