dragonfly reins? How do they work and do they work?

Just seen that these can help with achieving a correct outline when schooling, cant see how they work, anyone got any views on them?

Your horse/pony will be able to adopt the correct outline more quickly
Dragonfly Reins prevent the bit from being pulled through the mouth when pressure is applied to either rein, making bending much easier
Dragonfly Reins will keep the bit balanced, often reducing head tossing

I'd rather use a full-cheek bit, soft hands and some riding lessons. ;)
 
I think it's just the weight that encourages a steady contact. Years ago youo could buy a lunging aid that clipped to the it - it was basically weights on a strap that clipped to the bit below the side reins. Just provided a steady contact.
