Lately Murphy has been acting oddly, he is VERY grumpy in his stable - to the point where I now have to watch him when people walk past..
When I go out to catch him he actively goes to bite me with his ears back and all.
This is unheard of behaviour for the Murph - he's always been a biter but not in a nasty way....lately he just seems like he despises me *laughs out loud* which while funny, Im really worried it might have a serious undertone.
Feet, teeth have all been checked - the last thing I can think of is his saddle which was fitted for him but hasnt been checked of late - could that cause all this?

Other things I've been noticing is he has a bit of a runny nose after riding and he has had the very occassional cough.

Can anyone help? Ive been thinking if this carries on after the saddler comes I should get vet out - what would you reccommend?

maybe hes just feeling a bit under the weather. When was his back and teeth last done? If recently then id perhaps get your vet out to give him the once over.

His back hasnt been done since he was bought, his teeth were done last month.

Does a vet check his back - or is this a specialist only area?

Wasn't he out on loan for a while and then brought back again?? Maybe he is just feeling a bit unsettled and this is causing him to be a bit grumpy.

well id personally get his back seen too aswell - by a qualified physio, im sure someone on here will be able to reommend someone in your area. like kelly said aswell, if hes been out on loan and then come back he might just be feeling a bit upset and grumpy.
