Horse was getting better daily, he was all but sound in walk- ive not trotted him up as his shoes have been removed so he's a little footy anyway right now. His shoes were 2 weeks OD due to his fall and i thought having to bend his injured knee for the farrier unfair.
Box rest has gone far far better than i even dared to hope and i havent needed to try back up plan 2 which was taking him to work with me as he's stayed really calm and quiet.
The knee looked like it was healing well- still unpleasent but not a gaping hole.
but....last night after a few clean dressings i had a pussy one again :-(
Ive seen the vet this morning and she's given me more bandaging stuff and another course of anti biotics. This time i got the powder for his feed as 1- I feel awful injecting the poor thing and 2- He had come up in huge lumps at each injection site. I did alternate as recommended by the vet but didnt feel there was enough un sore body to do another course!
So we have a minimum of another week in to look forward to but on the upside his paddock may grow some grass for him to go back to i guess ;-)
