okay two questions

anyone know of any dates for xc/ht at draycott? cant find a website.

and whats the xc like at hadley, im competing in the open PC hunter trials which is 3ft3!!! eeek i did the eland lodge 3ft intermediate last year which was up to height! anyone know about hadley is it scary? lol any hair raiser in there?

don't know anything about draycott but I went XC schooling at Hadley a few weeks ago. It's quite a nice place but quite small, all the jumps are quite close together so you can't really gallop much and it's also quite up and down. I don't know if they'll add some extra jumps for the HT, but when we went there there weren't that many jumps there and heights ranged from about 2ft to 3ft7. I would say there wasn't enough to make a full up 3ft3 round so it would probably include quite a few smaller ones as most seemed to be either 2ft6-3ft or much much bigger!
If you don't mind jumping up and down hill it's probably not that scary (but I hate doing it!), a lot of the jumps were quite straight forwards (logs, palisades, small ditch, house etc), there's quite a big trakehner which will probs be in the 3ft3, there's quite a lot of steps, all of which where marked to jump down rather than up. The bigger steps rode alright but before them was a biggish rolltop which when you jump (which I didn't!

) you land on a steepish slope and can't see the steps until you're right on top of them! I also found the other steps quite scary to ride down as they're also on a steep hill, and when you land over the last (4th) step, it's still very steep so I would recommend going slow as if you have a forawrd going, big jumping horse (like I do) you end up feeling like you're leaping in to space over the last step as the ground just drops away!
As you can tell I'm a bit of a wimp XC, so most things scare me so don't be put off from what I've said as overall it's a nice place and the ground was also good.
Here's a link to my photobucket account which has somepics if you're interested http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s80/shellyksea/Hadley%20Farm/

There's normally a PC ode at draycott ,think it's meynell that run it. Not sure if they're running it because of p.c champs
